Expanding Tire Control Solution with Digital Tool — Basic Business Alliance Agreement with IoT development company

Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. has entered into contract with TripodWorks CO.,LTD and SYSGRATION LTD. for Basic Business Alliance Agreement. With this agreement, we shall establish global service of Air pressure control solution with Direct TPMS(Tire Pressure Monitoring System) and other solution system with various tire data from other digital tool to meet various needs from the customers. This alliance is part of the milestone of expanding solution service range on our tire technology development concept, "Smart Tyre Concept".

Future plans
We will start introducing the service of tire pressure control solution by using tire pressure and temperature data from Direct TPMS and gradually expand the tire control solution model by adding new function and/or other 3rd party service.
Background
Due to the evolution of the MaaS(Mobility as a Service), vehicle users have been changing from owning to sharing the vehicle, like Car Sharing and Ride Sharing. In addition, under the environment of technological evolution of autonomous driving and platooning vehicles, we expect that tire and vehicle control service, such as autonomous tire service and providing predictive maintenance services to be important. This is the reason why we will establish and provide new service to the customer to react to these environmental changes of vehicle industry.
